N R I G R A D / MONEY
Study-Abroad Money Pack
A practical worksheet set for Indian students turning an offer into a funded, documentable plan. Map the first 90 days, compare loan terms, and keep scholarship and visa evidence in one place.
Print this page after submitting your email, or use your browser’s “Save as PDF”. Blank fields are intentional: use confirmed figures, label estimates, and keep the source beside every important number.
01 / CASH FLOW
First 90-day worksheet
List the cash you need before and just after arrival. Convert currencies only when you know the rate or buffer you are using; do not hide one-off deposits inside a monthly average.

Decision gate: If a payment is due before a loan or scholarship is disbursed, record the documented bridge funding separately.
02 / BORROWING
Education-loan comparison
Compare the total obligation, not just the advertised interest rate. Ask for the lender’s current Key Facts Statement and keep the version date with your notes.

- Record whether interest accrues during study and the moratorium.
- Ask which costs are excluded: deposits, forex, insurance, travel or living costs.
- Write down the next action and owner: student, parent, lender or university.
03 / EVIDENCE
Scholarship evidence checklist
Keep the award exactly as issued. A marketing page is not proof of an award, and a conditional award should not be counted as available cash until its conditions are met.
Ask the relevant immigration authority whether the letter must identify the period, covered costs and sponsor, and whether a separate balance is still required.
04 / VISA FUNDS
Evidence chain
Rules vary by destination and route. Use this table to connect the official requirement to the document you will actually submit.
Keep a shortfall plan: subtract only confirmed funding from the budget. Hold a separate gap for deposits, currency movement, excluded costs and renewal risk.
NEXT STEPS
Turn the worksheet into a decision
Continue with the NRIGrad Money desk, the study-abroad budget guide, and destination-specific planning notes.
Primary sources
Requirements and provider terms change. Confirm material decisions with the responsible government, university, lender or insurer.
